Introduction to the International Law Faculty - Ho Chi Minh City University of Law.
In the context of globalization, Vietnam is a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and opened its education market in 2009. Enhancing the quality of education is an urgent task for society, educational institutions in general, and the International Law Faculty in particular. As a newly established faculty within the university, with a team of young, dynamic, enthusiastic, and dedicated faculty members, the International Law Faculty strives to fulfill the university's entrusted missions.
The educational goal of the International Law Faculty aligns with the overall objectives of the university and the educational goals of Vietnam, which aim to develop well-rounded individuals with ethics, professional knowledge, and the ability to meet the demands of nation-building in the current era of international economic integration. From these broad objectives, the International Law Faculty sets specific goals for its faculty members to become excellent teachers in terms of expertise and character, being dynamic, creative, and for its students to have a solid academic foundation, the ability to apply their knowledge in practice, and to be proactive and enthusiastic.
To become a faculty specializing in International Law, serving the needs of society in the current era of international economic integration, the faculty has identified two main focuses: the quality of teaching by faculty members and the quality of student learning. From this strategic long-term focus, the faculty has set a specific task for all faculty members, which is to meet the standard of expertise (holding a Master's degree in the relevant field) within three years of their appointment to the faculty. Moreover, students are required to attend classes, practical sessions, and discussions on time, as per the university's regulations, and no students should be academically weak by the end of the year.
Currently, the International Law Faculty has three specialized fields: International Public Law, International Private Law, and International Trade Law.
